INTRODUCTION

The following information is provided to support all airline operators, service providers, and pilots involved in flight operations to navigate around the products and services that are available from the Portuguese Aeronautical Information Service (AIS).

eAIP

The eAIP contains aeronautical information regarding the Organisation, Operation and Location of Aerodromes, Airspace, Navigation Aids and Facilities as well as any information pertinent to the safety of flight within the airspace.

•AIP – Aeronautical Information Publication (eAIP)
•AIP Amendments are issued at regular intervals according to a published 28 day cycle.
•AIP Supplements (SUP) are used to notify temporary changes of long duration (usually more than three months) or changes requiring extensive text and/or graphics.
•Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC) contain information that does not qualify for inclusion into the AIP or a NOTAM. They are used to provide information which relates to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters and may be used for disseminating information with graphical content.

NEW AIP PACKAGE CONTENTS – Contain latest published AIP amendments, Supplements and AICs.

FORTHCOMING PUBLICATIONS – Contain future information to be published.

Remark: This area of information requires registration. Existing users will simply need to re-use their unique username and password

FPL AND BRIEFING

The FPL AND BRIEFING system was developed to facilitate the provision of automated Pre-Flight Information Bulletins (PIB) and filing Flight Plans.

The NAV/AIS Portugal FPL AND BRIEFING facility enables users:
- to prepare flights anywhere, anytime via NAV-Portugal AIS website at www.nav.pt/ais/FPL AND BRIEFING
- to be duly informed about SLOT and flight plan Status;  and
- to generate tailored NOTAM briefing based on own individual needs

This tool has been made available restricted to pilots and entities involved in flight operations (e.g. aircraft operators, entities responsible for aerodromes, heliports and ultralight landing sites, flight schools, etc.). The registrations received shall be complemented with the sending by e-mail, to the application administrator (jorge.dias@nav.pt) , of a document certifying at least one of the activities refered above.

The service is available 24/7 and 365 days a year and is delivered through internet connection upon due registration (Pilot License number required).
Flight Plans will be routed to Lisbon ATS Reporting Office for validation. The Flight Plan and associated messages reception, validation and information related to ATFCM measures are performed by a feedback tool using e-mail Service.

The FPL AND BRIEFING System includes:
• Flight Plan
• Generating and submitting Flightplans and associated messages
• Searching for own Flightplans
• Pre-flight Briefing
• Generating Aerodrome PIB
• Generating Area PIB
• Generating Route PIB
• Generating Narrow Route PIB
• Generating Point Brief
• Generating Admin PIB
• AIP Library
• Searching for AIP

Every registered user will be assigned a personalized and configurable area where he/she can save his/her Personal FPL, Personal Aerodromes, Personal FIR, Personal Routes and Personal Settings.

CONTINGENCY BRIEFS

Several additional briefings are obtainable via AIS website. These bulletins are available as a contingency should EAD website become unserviceable. By default all briefings have 24 hours validity from the time they were constructed and they are updated every 4 hours.

The AIS website provides six types of contingency bulletins:
 •LISBOA FIR IFR/VFR BULLETIN
•SANTA MARIA FIR IFR/VFR BULLETIN
•INTERNATIONAL AERODROMES LISBOA FIR
•NATIONAL AERODROMES LISBOA FIR
•AERODROMES SANTA MARIA FIR
•NAVIGATION WARNINGS
